Neither rain nor wind nor chilly temperatures could keep New Hope Academy from holding its annual fall picnic! Despite the unseasonable weather, students and staff from both campuses gathered on Friday, October 2 at Core Creek Park for the event.
As always, the food was delicious; traditional picnic fare, including potato salad, pasta salad, and deviled eggs, lined the tables. Steven Gana and Bob Rosso grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, and chicken for the hungry crowd. And the desserts were as delectable as ever: brownies, cookies, and cupcakes were devoured en masse.
DJ Dave Boyd got the students (and some staff) on the dance floor, while chess teacher Bela Kis led a soccer circle of sorts. Some students played games, including poker and chess; others simply hung out, caught up with their friends, or did crafts, courtesy of the art department.
There were even some who braved the elements and played frisbee! However, the weather won and the picnic was packed up around noon. Everyone headed back to the Yardley campus and spent the rest of the afternoon in Coffee House. Some relaxed and watched a movie in the family room, some jammed in the music room, and others played games. Although the weather was a little frightful, the day turned out to be delightful!
