Valentine’s Day 2019

“All you need is love,” sang The Beatles, and there was plenty of love to go around on Thursday, February 14th, at the Valentine’s Day celebration at New Hope Academy. After gathering both campuses in the Family Room at Yardley, NHA president Kathy Rosso-Gana talked about the importance of having love in one’s life and how necessary it is to express that love through kindness. Later, students and staff shared some Valentine’s Day traditions, which ranged from baking sweet treats to eating candy to enjoying time with their loved ones. But the fun didn’t end there; previously purchased candy bags and carnations, an NHA tradition, were distributed by the Prom Committee. Some were sent from friend to friend, some sent from teacher to student, and some were sent from secret admirers. Everyone also supported the Prom Committee in their fundraising efforts by buying delicious baked goods. The students then spent the rest of afternoon in “Coffee House”; some students played games, some hung out in art, and others jammed in the music room. A highlight of the day were the special serenades performed by the cast of the upcoming NHA musical “Chicago.” For only $5, a cast member would sing a song to a lucky recipient. Everyone was certainly feeling the love at NHA!
