New Hope Academy presented Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible” on November 18 and 19 at the Yardley Community Centre in Yardley, PA. The talented cast and crew performed the classic drama, which tells the story of the Salem Witch Trials. The NHA Drama department would like to thank everyone involved in the production, as well as the dedicated family, friends, and faculty who attended the shows and cheered on the cast and crew!
Students and staff from both the Yardley and Doylestown campuses descended on Core Creek Park for New Hope Academy’s annual Fall Picnic on Friday, October 7th, 2022. The weather was perfect for walks in the woods, basketball, football, dancing, frisbee golf, card games, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Students were treated to a lovely lunch provided by NHA. The BBQ grill was wafting out the tantalizing smells of burgers and hot dogs. Staff provided salads, snacks, and desserts that were enjoyed by all. Excitement abounded at the end of the day with the announcement of the winners of the Drama department’s raffle ticket sale that benefited their upcoming play, Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible.” As the first cross-campus activity of the year, the Fall Picnic is an opportunity for staff and students to have fun and get to know each other outside of the classroom, in the hopes of building relationships that will grow throughout the year. It also gives the students from each campus the opportunity to meet and socialize. NHA’s Fall Picnic is a unique event that many look forward to — and once again, they were not disappointed.
Safe 2 Say
Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late. With Safe2Say Something, it’s easy and confidential to report safety concerns to help prevent violence and tragedies.
Here’s how it works:
Submit an anonymous tip report through the Safe2SaySomething system
Crisis center reviews, assesses and processes all submissions
Crisis center sends all submissions to school administration and/or law enforcement for intervention
If needed, crisis center may contact tipster anonymously through the app
